Von Hornberger Shepherds has been in existence since 1955. We are dedicated to breeding “The Total Dog” emphasizing temperament, intelligence, movement and health equally. Our specialty is the American German Shepherd lines, with some occasional West German /American crosses. All of our breeding dogs are OFA Certified (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). Many have their Temperament Certification (GSDCA), C.G.C (Canine Good Citizen) and Therapy Dog Certifications. Several of the German Shepherds we have bred are Champions and Champion Pointed.

Over the years our dogs have fulfilled our dreams as well as the dreams of many others who have owned our dogs. Some of our dogs are serving (or have served) as K-9 officers, search and rescue dogs and service dogs for the disabled...others have achieved such titles as CD, CDX, UD, UDX and herding. A few of our dogs have been listed as the top 10 highest scoring GSD's for the Northeast. And just as honorable, our dogs have served as loving family companions as well as children’s best friends and we are honored to be a part of this special breed.
